Hypnosis has become extremely popular for treatments and interventions such as quitting smoking, anxiety treatments, and ever-growing weight loss. For some reason weight loss and hypnosis seem to go hand in hand. There are a number of studies that show why hypnosis is so effective, and it’s why celebrities and members of the public are turning to take notice for help. In most cases, people know what they should and shouldn’t eat. And when they should and shouldn’t eat certain things, yet it is the inner voice inside which drives and motivates the really unhelpful behavior, which makes weight loss seemingly impossible for some people. Thankfully by reprogramming the mind using hypnosis, long sustainable weight loss is possible, and not only that it’s effective and safe too.
Think Yourself Thin
There is a train of thought regarding hypnosis for weight loss which says that the person who is receiving the therapy, simply begins to see them in a different way. They no longer see the big fat person looking back at them in the mirror, it simply that perception that you change with hypnosis, and no actual results take place that is tangible!
This is an interesting way to look at things, however, if the “weight loss” of perceived weight loss was simply that, perceived. Then it would be extremely difficult to understand how celebrities all over the world have seen a massive change in their bodies when using hypnosis.
Hypnosis is able to target the subconscious mind and work with you in a number of areas so that you achieve your goal. Increasing levels of motivation and confidence are two ways that hypnosis can help. Imagine for a moment if you had more control over the feelings of hunger, perhaps the suggestion that you are feeling fuller for longer and that you make the right food choices would also be beneficial. The diversity to the approach that hypnosis is able to take to help with weight loss, is extensive. This is why the results have proven the hypnosis is an effective strategy for weight loss. See some of the excerpts below from clinical research which has taken place over the years.
Here are some studies on weight loss and hypnosis:
Hypnosis Over 30 Times as Effective for Weight Loss
“Researchers investigated the effects of hypnotherapy in 60 who were at least 20% overweight. The hypnosis intervention covered a wide verity of specific treatments including, confidence building, ego strengthen and controlling motivation and decision-making when it comes to making the right food choices. They also included suggestions, which made the maintenance section of the studies more effective. Their findings were that the subjects who received hypnosis as part of their weight loss program lost on an average of 17lb and the control group only lost 0.5lb.“

Two Years On: The Hypnosis Subjects Weight Loss Continued
“Of the 109 people who completed the behavioral treatment for weight loss and weight management they either received or didn’t hypnosis as part of their program. After the completion of the 9-week study plan, both of the interventions resulted in significant weight loss. Then these people were contacted at 8 months and then again at 2 years to track their progress if any and, yet again it showed the hypnosis group had continued to lose significant weight from fat. The behavioral control group showed very little improvement.“

The above clinical studies clearly show the effectiveness of hypnosis to lower a person’s weight. The technology used and the information gained year after year is what is making hypnosis so appealing to people who are looking to lose weight.
Considering a typical hypnosis treatment lasts only 60 minutes, and results are usually noticed within the first five days, it’s clear why hypnosis is now so popular, and I’m sure it will continue to be.
