Imagine if you went into a party with a six pack of beer. You walked over to the keg, picked it up, and threw it out the door. Then, you put the six pack where the keg was. People would probably be pretty upset. Now, let’s look at this differently. Let’s say the keg isn’t at the party. It’s on your stomach, and it contains fat instead of beer. You make a few lifestyle changes and you are able to replace that keg belly with a six pack. That would be a good exchange, wouldn’t it? If you’re sick of carrying around the keg and want to downsize to a six pack, you just need to follow a few tips.

Burn the Fat

You can’t get a six pack until you burn the fat around your belly. After all, it would take some pretty big muscles to poke out of a keg stomach. With that in mind, you need to start exercising.

You can burn fat quickly by mixing cardio and strength training exercises. You shouldn’t focus on your abdominal area when you do these exercises. Instead, you need to work out your entire body. That will help you get lean faster. This is essential, because even a small amount of fat can prevent you from getting ripped.

Eat Better

You will also have to eat better if you’re going to get rid of the fat around your stomach. Go through your kitchen and throw all of the processed foods in the trash. Replace them with lean meats and fresh vegetables. You can also fuel your body with complex carbohydrates like brown rice. Additionally, you need to add a lot of fresh fruits to your diet. Fruit is full of nutrients that will help you get healthy. The nutrients will also keep you energized, which means it will be easier for you to give it your all during your workouts.

Finally, drink a lot of water. It will help flush out your system. While you might prefer beer, an alcoholic six pack won’t help you get an athletic six pack. Thus, reach for the bottle of water instead of the bottle of beer, at least most of the time.

Start Building Muscle

Finally, you will need to start building muscle. You want to do the most effective abdominal exercises possible so you can build the muscle quickly. Fortunately, you have several options.

Crunches with an exercise ball are a great way to firm up your abdominal muscles. Just lie back on an exercise ball and do your crunches. Start off slowly until you are certain you can balance on the ball. Then you can pick up the pace.

Vertical leg crunches are another great option. Do them like regular crunches, but put your legs up in the air and cross your knees. Once you are in position, start doing the vertical leg crunches.

Finally, you can do the bicycle. Lie down and put your hands behind your head. Lift your shoulder blades up slightly and raise your legs. Peddle like you’re on a bike. You will feel the burn immediately. Do this exercise for as long as you can, since it will likely generate the best results.

If you follow these tips, you can finally replace that keg with a six pack. Watch out, though. There is a serious side effect to having a six pack. It’s called “Going Shirtless” and it tends to affect people who are ripped. If you can deal with the side effect, go ahead and start doing the exercises so you can kiss that keg belly goodbye.
